Specialized Treatment Services
Behavioral Health Services at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center include two specialized mental health programs with 32 adult beds total. Both programs are designed to provide individualized treatment based upon each patient's clinical needs.
One program specifically provides a therapeutic environment for anxious, depressed or bipolar patients. This includes seniors suffering with acute mental health changes.
We understand some patients require a more acute and secure environment. To meet this need, our second unit focuses on the more acute patient suffering from schizophrenia, psychosis and the suicidal patient.
Both programs are designed to provide quality care and stabilization for patients, in a safe secure setting utilizing a multidisciplinary team approach.
Total Care
The high quality care we provide is evident in all our treatment modalities. The psychiatrist heads the treatment team of experienced mental health professionals, including nurses, therapists, social workers, mental health technicians and occupational therapists.
Patients are individually evaluated and their needs are prioritized in order to insure they receive the necessary treatments. Patients and families are encouraged to actively participate in both the planning and implementation of the treatment.
